Joanne is an economist with a background in central banking and public policy. She is experienced in using data and economic tools to develop practical recommendations for government stakeholders. She has undertaken analyses and developed policy across a broad range of areas, including health, investment attraction, social welfare and education.

During her time at dandolo, Joanne has:

  • Developed a prioritisation framework to support the selection of sub-sectors that present significant foreign direct investment opportunities for Australia

  • Drafted guidance and operational plans to support the implementation of a state-wide mental health initiative for all secondary schools

  • Conducted an impact assessment of recommendations to reform a national education qualifications framework

  • Undertaken a cost benefit analysis to quantify the financial benefits / costs of upskilling in the early childhood sector. This formed the basis of policy recommendations to support early childhood educator to upskill.

  • Evaluated the effectiveness of a multi-year state government funding program for creative sector organisations

Prior to dandolo, Joanne was a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Malaysia, which plays an equivalent role of the Australian Treasury. In addition to undertaking economic analysis on major economies to inform monetary policy decisions, she also developed policy recommendations for the Federal Government and drafted key briefings / speeches for major multilateral organisations’ forums.

Joanne holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom).
