Nic works with clients in and around government to solve difficult problems. He has led a number of evaluation, strategy and implementation projects across a range of policy areas including industry, education and health. He is recognised by clients for his quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as experience in complex stakeholder engagement and framework development.
Developed a strategy to accelerate the growth of Victoria’s health startup ecosystem. dandolo recommendations led to funding to support accelerator and education programs in and around the health sector.
Advised on the rollout requirements of Early Learning Languages Australia, a digital language learning program for children in preschool. The program has reached over 80,000 children in 2500 Australian preschools.
Evaluated a national program supporting teachers to implement digital technologies and coding in schools. The evaluation identified opportunities to make resources and support for teachers more accessible and user-friendly.
Led dandolo’s work mapping Victoria’s startup ecosystem for two years running. This work has provided the most detailed view of Victoria’s startup ecosystem produced to date.
Reviewed a health startup accelerator designed to connect entrepreneurs and clinicians. The review identified opportunities to increase the program’s scale and impact.

Nic worked as a policy advisor for the New Zealand government where he coordinated initiatives relating to science and innovation, capital markets and exporting as part of a program of work to assist ministers to prioritise policy initiatives across the New Zealand economic agenda.
Nic has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Victoria University of Wellington.
