2022 Victorian Startup Investment Snapshot

dandolo was engaged by a government startup agency to map the state's startup ecosystem. The work explored the drivers of the state's startup ecosystem growth and measured the strengths of different elements of the ecosystem. dandolo analysed multiple databases to assess the current performance of the state’s startup ecosystem across key variables (e.g. availability of capital, access to talent, access to support infrastructure, rate of exits). Using this information, dandolo drew insights on the rate of startup growth, diversity, future pipeline, strategies, broader economic contribution, and overall health of the state's ecosystem. A public facing report was developed to identify focus areas for government support, including priority sectors, improve the state's position in international startup ecosystem rankings and measure and assess the state's startup ecosystem progress over time.
