What we offer

We offer our staff the opportunity to work exclusively on challenging public policy issues with clients in and around government across multiple sectors, including portfolios such as skills and employment, health, education, justice, creative and cultural, community services and innovation. Cross-sectoral work exposes you to a range of different policy settings and delivery realities.

Variety is the norm at dandolo. In a single project, you may contribute to activities such as:

  • defining a conceptually difficult problem
  • running interviews
  • analysing data and turning into compelling narrative
  • drafting a report

We think critically about how tasks are structured and assigned to ensure they’re suitable for each team member and promote learning. We hope to empower team members to be stretched by the work.

We know that effective support looks different for everyone, and each support mechanism at dandolo has room to adapt to the needs of each individual. Every time someone joins the team, they will be assigned a:

  • ‘coach’, who will have regular discussions with you about your learning and development needs and wellbeing
  • ‘buddy’ at a similar level to you in the organisation to show you the ropes

From day one induction, new starters will incrementally build fundamental skills through structured group training sessions led by experienced consultants and leaders. This covers areas from the general ins-and-outs of working at dandolo and internal processes, to conducting core consultation activities, to approaches to analysing data and structuring ideas.

We offer our staff the opportunity to work hours that fit around their schedule and needs, where it works with other work commitments.

We care about our work, but also each other. Psychological safety is non-negotiable, and we strive to make all colleagues feel equal and seen. Expect kindness, clear expectations, and teammates who want you to succeed and celebrate success. We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all its forms.
